The exhibition “Gen Z Craftsmanship Exhibition – Studying Fashion x Sustainability” will be held from March 14th to 19th at Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka!


For 6 days from March 14th (Tuesday) to March 19th (Sunday) at the Osaka Nakanoshima Museum of Art, students from OSAKA INSTITUTE OF FASHION thought about fashion and sustainability and collaborated with various companies on a project. We will hold an exhibition that brings together all the creations born from. You will be able to see sustainable creations using a variety of approaches, from upcycling discarded clothing to works using fish skin to works using the latest technology such as 3D modeling.

① Potential of knit WHOLEGARMENT® x 3D technology
This work utilizes the WHOLEGARMENT flat knitting machine, a knitting machine that can be produced using only the required amount of thread without unnecessary cutting. An installation linked to ``3D modeling'' of digital costumes created using 3D CAD software ``CLO,'' which is attracting attention in the fashion industry.

② Possibilities of leather materials
Which is more sustainable: real leather or fake leather? A highly durable genuine leather piece made from the skins of meat animals that would normally be discarded. Among them, we use leather that is said to be uneven in color and damaged.

③ Possibility of fish skin
In Japan, a lot of fish is consumed as food, but 90% of the bones and skin are thrown away. He creates works using fish leather, a material that has not yet penetrated the world.

④ Possibilities of used denim
This creative work is upcycled using a large amount of used Levi's® 501® denim that Yamasawa Press purchased in Los Angeles.

⑤Possibility of discarded kimono
This upcycled work uses discarded kimonos provided by M-Trade, which collects attractive products filled with the passion of producers.
