I want to captivate viewers with my unique personality.

After graduating, I launched my own personal brand, ``tanakadaisuke,'' and I work as a fashion designer and embroidery artist, creating costumes for artists and commercials. The beauty of this job is that you can basically leave the ordering of costumes and items to me, so I can create everything to my satisfaction, from the materials to the design, sewing, and finishing. In 2022, we will be presenting our collection on the Tokyo Collection runway, and in an environment where we can deliver clothes to a variety of people, which we could not have done with our previous activities, we will be able to spread our stories from a small scope to a larger world. I feel a sense of fulfillment in what I do. It's a big burden because of the expectations, but it's a happy time.

OIF × tanakadaisuke's recent activities

We were invited to the fashion event "PTU Fashion Week" held in Seoul, Korea, where we held a special lecture by Daisuke Tanaka and our first exhibition in Korea.

At the talk show held as a special event for the Autumn Festival, he spoke about the appeal and expansion of fashion, and the rewards of working as a designer, based on his own experiences and perspectives.

He served as the head judge for the 12th annual "High School Student Design Drawing Contest." He judges the works based on his own knowledge and sensibilities, and is dedicated to producing the next generation of creators.

The place of activity is the art and film industry

After gaining experience as a pattern maker for a domestic brand, I served as the chief pattern maker for the Paris Fashion Week brand. In 2018, he became independent and established Ambient Co., Ltd. Utilizing 3D CAD, in addition to developing three in-house brands, we also provide pattern direction, design, and production support for over 40 brands both domestically and internationally. Since 2021, we have been working on the fusion of fashion and art, and are expanding the scope of our activities by connecting with industries other than apparel, such as gallery exhibitions, artist collaborations, and licensing agreements with the film industry.

Imagine the future and respond to the times with ease

In addition to his own brand, he is active in a wide range of activities, including directing GU and miscellaneous goods. In the spring of 2021, we launched a new brand in line with the times at the request of our client, an apparel manufacturer. Luxury but relaxing. Sceneless and easy to use. The concept is to adapt to the new daily life. Now, as long as you have a PC and an iPad, you can do direction work from anywhere, including your home or a cafe. I plan to continue working with a work style that adapts to the changing times.

While working as a buyer, I also occasionally stand in the store. As a buyer, I can buy with confidence because I communicate with customers on a regular basis and have an accurate understanding of their demographics and needs. I try to offer proposals that only "LITMUS" and "LUTENS" can offer that set me apart from other stores, and I also pay attention to social media posts and displays. My goal is to make the store a place where customers are happy and where staff want to continue working.

After training, he became independent in Milan as Salto.

In 2002, he began his training at a long-established Milan workshop. After that, he moved to three of Milan's most famous workshops, and even had the opportunity to sew a suit for former Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi. He is now an independent tailor in Milan, and handles everything from measurements to sewing by himself. His suits are expensive, starting at 400,000 yen, but the structured lines are unique to classic Milan suits. He would like to spread the appeal of these suits in Japan as well.

We pour love into each and every product we create.

Approximately 120 planned products, mainly men's items from DOORS, are lined up in stores each year. The knowledge I learned through OIF is useful when I have meetings with people in charge of materials, patterns, and sewing factories. As a designer, I get to interact with a variety of people, and I feel like I'm growing every day. My goal is to launch a personal brand. I would be happy if my styling with my own brand items was featured in a magazine.

I want to help women look beautiful

I am in charge of designing shapewear that makes women's bodies look beautiful when worn. Products such as girdles and bodysuits require product development that takes into consideration not only appearance, but also comfort and functionality. After working as a pattern maker, I am now involved in the development of main products, but the reason I am able to pursue the best designs in my work is because of my experience in creating works without compromising on OIF. I would like to continue to be particular about my work and take on new challenges.

I want to make exciting clothes

I joined World Co., Ltd. because I sympathized with their attitude of continuing to take on new challenges. Having experience in multiple business formats, I currently work as a patterner at Idiom Co., Ltd., a group company that proposes products according to client requests. The products we handle vary in concept and price range. I find it rewarding to be able to help people feel excited when they wear their favorite clothes. The basis for any situation is the skills and knowledge cultivated through OIF, and the ability to discover and solve problems. Although it is difficult, I feel like I am growing every day.

Creating and communicating the ideal image of the brand

I joined beautiful people as a retail salesperson. I have experience in sales for about three and a half years, and am currently also working in PR. Because I have more experience in sales, I have a strong awareness of sales in my PR work. While being conscious of what a collection brand should be, we place great importance on how to generate sales. The basics I learned through OIF are useful in both sales and PR. Our goal is to make beautiful people a global brand that represents Japan.

As the MD assistant for ``THOM BROWNE,'' I oversee the sales strategy for all 16 stores in Japan together with my boss, the MD. The reason I wanted to work for a foreign brand was because of the training I had in the United States and New York at OIF. After graduating, I studied abroad in Canada for two years in order to work for a foreign company. My work involves a lot of interaction with people overseas, so the English skills I acquired while studying abroad and the wide range of fashion knowledge I learned through OIF are useful. Above all, I like people. I enjoy serving customers and training staff.

I've been a big fan of EVRIS since I was a student. By gaining knowledge of materials and products and customer service skills through OIF, I was able to get a job at my first choice of company and became a store manager in my third year. Now, as a store manager, I try to develop the strengths of each member of the shop and create a store that makes customers happy. I'm very happy when my staff grow and advance in their careers.

Store management is interesting because it's creative.

As the owner, I handle everything from branding the shop to negotiating deals with brands and selling. Analyzing the mood and trends of the times is also an important job. We collect information by reading industry newspapers and researching the purchasing demographic, and reflect it in our buying decisions in Tokyo and Paris. The management of the store is creative. By making various efforts, the number of customers increases and I feel it is rewarding. We would like to continue increasing the number of brands we handle and enriching our product lineup.

Feeling positive response from overseas buyers

I started working in an apparel company, and in 2009 I became a designer for a brand I launched within the company. At first, the company only operated at select shops in Japan, but in 2015 they turned their attention to overseas markets and held their first exhibition at a showroom during Paris Fashion Week. We continue to exhibit twice a year, expand our sales channels in Europe and the United States, and are currently expanding our business both domestically and internationally. Having been running the brand for over 10 years, being able to consistently handle design, patterns, production management, and clothing making is a strength I learned from OIF.

I started my company in 2018 and am involved in event planning and hosting, as well as producing a brand of kitchen goods centered on aprons. What I always keep in mind in my work is to cherish each and every encounter I have with people. Also, what can I do to make my customers, staff, and everyone else smile? We will keep our information antennas upright and flexibly change our form in response to the trends of the world. If there's something you're curious about, give it a try. I would like to continue moving forward with this attitude.

Styling popular comedians and talents

Since the actors are the main actors when it comes to styling on TV shows, my motto is "Branding through clothing." We create styling with the utmost attention to the wearer's character and appearance. When I think about the impression each design and item creates, I feel that everything I learned as a student, from textiles to fashion history, has come into use now that I am a professional.

I want to help you shine in each scene.

I work as a stylist in various locations. The content and skills required for each site, such as artist sites, TV recordings, dramas, and movies, are different, so it is important to broaden your perspective and think three or four times ahead. A big live tour is tough because we start a month in advance and work until the last minute, but I feel a sense of accomplishment when I see them singing and dancing on stage. I feel that the experience of styling and presenting many times at OIF and the many things I learned, such as color, research, patterns, and sewing, are connected to where I am today.
