Haute Couture & Stage Costume Course

HAUTE COUTURE & COSTUME

Based on traditional haute couture techniques,
Learn techniques and methods of expression unique to stage costumes.

Students will learn about traditional haute couture techniques, materials, and decorations, and practice creating high-quality clothing that expresses their own unique worldview. The creation skills they acquire here can be put to good use in the apparel industry, which focuses on ready-to-wear clothing, as well as in highly specialized dresses and stage costumes.

Dress making under the guidance of a popular dress designer

Under the guidance of "ISAMU MORITA" designer Isamu Morita, the participants will tour the atelier and learn about dress construction, market trends, accessory making, and more.

The dress will be commercialized

Three dresses made by third-year students in this course have been selected for sale as "ISAMU MORITA" products. Designer Morita gave a critique of the students' creations, highly praising their design and technical skills.

Dress presented at fashion show

In the third year, students will present their collection in a show format, with professional models wearing the dresses, and will present the work that will be the culmination of their three years of study.

Costume production for idol groups

Planning and presentation were carried out based on the concept of the song. The costumes that were made were actually used as the stage costumes for the performance.

In order to provide customers with the highest quality clothing, a high level of technical skill is required in design, pattern, material selection, and sewing. Students will learn about couture techniques, materials, and decorations, and aim to create high-quality clothing. The skills learned here will be of great use not only in the production of dresses and stage costumes, but also in the apparel industry, which focuses on ready-made clothing.

You will learn high-quality haute couture techniques, including design, pattern making, materials, and sewing methods that suit the wearer's body type and the occasion.

Material knowledge

Students will learn about the texture and form characteristics of fibers, threads, cloth, etc., which are the constituent elements of materials, and will acquire the knowledge to create patterns and sew that take materials into account during production.
