A national feat! A student from Fashion Business wins the grand prize at the PAL FOUNDATION CUP, a sales role-playing contest!

On October 28th, Natsuki Otsuka, a second-year student in Fashion Business 's Shop Staff Course, won the grand prize at the sales role-playing contest "PAL FOUNDATION CUP"! She was the student with the best sales and customer service skills in the country.

``PAL FOUNDATION CUP'' is an event organized by the ``PAL Inoue Foundation,'' which was established by the Inoue family, the founders of PAL Group, which operates products such as mystic, kastane, and 3coins, to universities, junior colleges, and vocational schools nationwide that specialize in fashion business. This is a contest for students to compete in customer service skills.
The 10 people who made it through the West Japan and East Japan qualifying rounds held in September will participate in the final round. On this day, the national competition was held in Osaka.

Ten students selected from across the country participated in the competition, with two from OSAKA INSTITUTE OF FASHION, Natsuki Otsuka and Una Jinbo, second-year students in the Shop Staff Course Fashion Business taking part.
Within the allotted time of six minutes, we listened to the customer's needs and wants, communicated with them and made coordination suggestions.

As a result of the judging by people who are active at the forefront of the fashion industry, including Senken Shimbun Osaka Branch Manager Mr. Fujiura and WWD JAPAN Business Desk Mr. Hayashi, Mr. Otsuka won the Grand Prix Platinum Award, and Mr. Jimbo won the Bronze Award.

Comments from Mr. Otsuka who won the Grand Prix;

``On the day, I was able to enjoy the atmosphere and only think about entertaining the customers in front of me.
I am very happy that the parts that I put a lot of effort into practicing, such as my movements and product explanations, were evaluated well!
Since July, I have been working hard to practice for this contest, going to school even when classes are not in session. There were times when I found it difficult to keep facing my weak points, but I was able to overcome this by supporting each other with Mr. Jimbo, who was competing with me.
I also realized that there are people around me, such as teachers, family, and friends, who are always willing to cooperate and support me. ”

Our school is equipped with a dedicated "store room," and our business departments strive to hone their sales skills every day. Even in the "PAL Cup Kansai Fashion College Selection Sales Role Playing Contest," which was held until the previous year, we have achieved a stable performance, winning the Grand Prix in 2021 and the Second Grand Prix in 2020.
