“High school student fashion design drawing contest 2022” final results announced!

The final judging of the "High School Student Fashion Design Drawing Contest 2022" sponsored by OSAKA INSTITUTE OF FASHION has ended.
tanakadaisuke The awards were decided after a rigorous review by designer Daisuke Tanaka, as well as supporting companies such as WWD JAPAN and Senken Shimbun.

The grand prize winner out of a total of 537 entries was Kanon Moriguchi (second year high school student from Kyoto Prefecture).
Ms. Moriguchi received a prize of 100,000 yen, the right to be a scholarship student OSAKA INSTITUTE OF FASHION, and an additional prize from Daisuke Tanaka.

This work left the most impression on me, as it was bold yet well-balanced in detail. The distinctive parts of each piece stir my imagination and excite me, both as clothing and as art.

Mr. Morimoto's love of fashion came through from the attention to detail in the clothes and the overall color usage, including the makeup. The well-balanced total coordination is very nice.

I fell in love with the clothes at first sight. I'm impressed by how high school students come up with elegant designs that incorporate bold objects such as dragons and bamboo, but are not too overpowering. I'd like to see this outfit in person.

[General review of the 2022 contest by chief judge, Daisuke Tanaka]
The passion that everyone put into each piece was felt through the detail, silhouette, and color usage. The world of fashion is vast, and no matter what you're studying, there are many things that intersect with the industry. Please continue to work hard and pour your passion into various things. We are looking forward to seeing those who apply to become active designers in the future.

This year marks the 11th time this contest has been held, but due to the spread of coronavirus infection, the award ceremony was held for the first time in three years.
